I can heartily recommend that anyone following this blog for things open source, especially around funding or “sustainability”, read Laurie Voss’ “Nobody pays for open source. We can force them to.”.
It’s fair to say I’m biased, a bit of a seldo fan. I was his “battle lawyer” for npm, which he co-founded and I represented for several years. I admire his frank assessment of some of that experience in-post, but there’s lots more there to think about, besides.
